Today Year 1 used cups and bottles of all different sizes and shapes to investigate ‘capacity’. Year 1 estimated which bottle or cup would hold the most and the least water. After that we used jugs to measure how much water each bottle or cup would hold. What did you find out?
capacity is great fun! I learned all about full, empty and half full, wider, taller and bigger. At home I filled a very tall and slim drinks bottle with water and a small wide cereal bowl with water, I then poured the water into a measuring jug and they had the same amount of water in them, even though one was smaller, it was also wider.
That sounds fantastic learning at home, Theo. Well done.

Very impressed Theo, keep up your excellent work.
