In maths this week we have been measuring. The Hexagons used a meter stick to measure the flower beds outside. Super measuring Hexagons, well done!

Winnie the Witch asked Year 1 to make some magic wands. Year 1 used black paper and lots of glitter to make their wands. After we had made our wands we wrote instructions for Winnie to make her own wand.

Year 1 had a special visitor this morning, Mr Worthington brought in a hedgehog he had found in his garden. We all had lots of questions about how to look after hedgehogs and what food they like to eat. It was so exciting!

We went exploring the woodland area and found out how the greenhouse is being made. We were all very surprised to find out that plastic bottles were being used to make the walls of the greenhouse.

In our RE lessons we have been learning about thanking God for nature. We decided to thank God for nature by collecting some leaves, sticks, conkers and acorns from the woodland area and using them to make pictures. Year 1 did a fantastic job and made some lovely pictures!

The three little pigs asked Year 1 to investigate which materials would be the best to make their homes out of. Year 1 tested wood, paper and plastic. We found out that the plastic would make the best material for a house because it was strong and waterproof.

We were very lucky to have question and answer session with Mrs Cubbin. We asked Mrs Cubbin lots of questions to find out what Woodfield school used to be like. It was lots of fun and we found out lots of interesting information.

The Hexagons went shape hunting. They found lots of 2D and 3D shapes. Can you name any of the shapes they found?

We had lots of fun making short animations on 2animate! It was tricky at first but we kept practising!
